Complimentary Seminar: A Multi-Specialty Approach To Dental Implant Therapy

Interdisciplinary Care: A Multi-Specialty Approach to Dental Implant Therapy

Program Description:

Complex restorative solutions to missing teeth require a multi-disciplinary approach. For both young and old patients, spacing is often corrected orthodontically before or during the planning process. This webinar will examine the role of the implant team – orthodontist, surgeon, restorative dentist, and laboratory technician – in light of patient needs regarding spacing and timing of treatment.

Program Objectives:

At the completion of the program, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the role of the orthodontist and pediatric dentist in identifying, treatment planning, and caring for implant candidates.
  • Understand the space requirements necessary for ideal dental implant therapy.
  • Comprehend the current literature pertaining to craniofacial growth and its impact on timing of implant placement in the young adult.
  • Understand the orthodontist’s role in the treatment sequence for patients with complex occlusal disease relative to dental implant therapy.
