Job Description:

Job Oversee staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments for CAD/CAM dental technicians. Direct or coordinate production of a dental laboratory. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications of dental prosthetics using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) Equipment. Develop or implement quality control systems. Review operations and confer with technical staff to resolve production or processing problems. Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge dental technicians. Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records. Set and monitor product standards for staff CAD/CAM dental technicians. Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems to resolve design or other problems related to dental prosthetics. Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources. Develop new products or production processes. Maintain current knowledge of dental technology. Negotiate materials prices with suppliers. Provide new employee training for CAD/CAM department. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting accuracy. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems of the dental prosthetics.

Requirements:

Associate Degree in any Technology field plus 2 years experience as CAD/CAM Manager.

Job Description:

  • Monitor, evaluate, or offer training activities for staff dental technicians on fabrication crowns, implants and dentures utilizing, porcelain, metal and CAD/CAM system.
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors or customer representatives.
  • Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals, and guides and course materials for dental technicians such as handouts and visual materials.
  • Present information on design of dental prosthetics using computer-assisted design (CAD/CAM) system.
  • Present information on the making of crowns, implants and dentures using a variety of instructional techniques, including demonstrations.
  • Evaluate training materials used to teach dental technicians.
  • Design, plan, organize, and direct orientation and training for staff dental technicians utilizing the CAD/CAM system, making crowns, implant and dentures.
  • Monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded, and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures.
  • Must know how to make crowns, implants and dentures using porcelain, metal and CAD/CAM system.

Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Dental Laboratory Technology plus 2 years experience as Dental Technician Training Specialist or Dental Lab manager required.  Must know how to make crowns, implants and dentures using porcelain, metal and CAD/CAM system.
